*History of club: Copacabana is located on the southern end of the NSW Central Coast. It is approximately 20 mins drive from Gosford and lies between Macmasters and Avoca Beaches. The Copacabana SLSC is the current Central Coast Surf Club of the Year. The Copacabana Surf Life Saving Club started lifesaving in 1963-64 season with 14 active members. Our first office bearers were Peter White (President)- John Jones (Club Captain)- Malcolm Pearce (Vice Captain) and Ronald Cowburn (Secretary and Treasurer). Copacabana now boasts 400 members of which approximately 80 are active Surf Lifesavers. In recent years Copacabana has been recognised for its excellence in Surf Life Saving by being named the Central Coast Club of the Year for a record 4 consecutive years and 5 times over the past 7 years.
